 Letter to the me 15 years ago:That’s high school. I entered the agency when I was in primary 6, I really only thought about work and nothing else, I lived for my job. That’s why when I was going to high school, I chose my school based on whether I was able to do this job. And then, when I was in the 2nd year of high school, I was chosen to be in NEWS and we debuted. If I had chosen to prioritise my studies above work, for example if I put my job aside for the sake of examinations into universities, my life might have changed. I have something to say to the me 15 years ago. You may be having some uneasy feelings right now, but when you are 31 years old, you are very happy and you are happy with every era you are in. So, it’s okay to go forward on the path you believe in. |
 Letter to the me 15 years later:Dear 46-year-old Masuda-sama, are you doing fine? Are you having fun everyday? Do you still like clothes? The 31-year-old me is fine and having fun everyday.  Letter to Koyama:I can somewhat remember when Koyama entered the agency when I was a Junior. He was like a “Urahara kei niichan” (Back alley of Harajuku kinda big brother) (lol). When our group first formed, a lot of people said that our MC was boring. I was also very frustrated but Koyama was the one who worked the hardest at that time. He thought he could be the one who could do it so he did his best to become the one responsible for MC of NEWS. So on that note, I think Koyama is the first one in the group to think about what he can do. And that links to the NEWS now and also links to his job as a newscaster, and I think that's really amazing. Having this kind of people in the group is a huge strength. Koyama is like a person who can absorb anything. I wish for Koyama to continue absorbing lots of things and remain as hilarious as he is now. I have great expectations. |
 Letter to Shige:Recently, chances of working with Shige on creating concerts have increased. Shige is also a creator so we exchange thoughts like, "I have this idea. What do you think?" Shige is rational and I go with my feelings, so I think we probably use our brains differently. But that's precisely why we can create interesting chemical reactions. If it's with Shige, using NEWS as our field, I think I can most probably create things that I definitely can't create by myself alone. And, please let me just say this. Shige, please just stop dirtying the dressing room. Every time with the amount of spills from drinks, I thought he does it on purpose. I wish he’d be more careful with his loose grip and randomness. Well, though he can’t be cured of it I guess (lol). |
 Letter to Tegoshi:When we were Juniors, we started to work with each other since Johnny-san told me that it’s better for me to sing with Tegoshi. Then when NEWS was formed, Johnny-san also told us to work hard in leading NEWS’ songs. There wasn’t anyone in my generation who's like Tegoshi, one who’s so serious in working hard on singing, I think the fact that I can have a career in singing is because I met Tegoshi. I wish to make more music that only we can make from here onwards, same goes for Tegomass. By the way, Tegoshi’s art is getting less interesting recently and I’m disappointed. In the past, your art is so bad it's interesting but now, it’s just bad and not so interesting anymore. You can’t get people to laugh like this. Please do some reflections (lol). |
 Letter to Fans:Thank you for your support always. When we are making music, there are people who can’t wait to listen to them, who put NEWS songs in their music players, who listen to our song whenever, etc. Then there are people who watch us when we appear on TV programmes and magazines. The fact that we are allowed do the jobs we enjoy like now is really because of all our fans. Everyday I think about how happy I am if my presence is one of the happy elements or plus points in someone’s life. So from here on too, I will work hard on being grateful, working hard everyday, singing good songs, giving great performances, so that everyone can enjoy. From here onwards too, we are in your hands. |
