Letter to Koyama-san:   I’m always told, "Tegoshi shines the brightest when having freedom, the three of us will support you if anything happens, so please don’t worry and just take the lead and run." So I’m able to keep attacking forward and forward. My biggest supporter is Koyama-san and I’m really grateful. To me, he is a reliable elder brother and a good partner, and also the one keeping balance in NEWS. I like the relationship in NEWS now because the four of us understand each other and help each other out. I think this is a great relationship. Even though I think that members are members and not friends, Koyama-san is the only one who I can think of becoming friends with if we were in school. He is the person who has opposite personality as me but has matching frequency as me. Speaking of which, today, I received a pair of socks, bought from a discount store, from my manager saying, "This is from Koyama-san." From here on too, please buy for me anything that makes you think, "Ah, this is good."

Letter to Masuda-san:   Masuda-san is an artiste who puts singing as his main career and a person who fights using music. Our unit, Tegomass, was formed on the basis of wanting to change people’s stereotype of "idols not placing priority on songs", so having him, who takes music so seriously that it goes beyond our wishes of changing people’s stereotype, as my partner is very encouraging. Songs are our precious common understanding. The serious and cautious Masuda-san and the me who makes decisions quickly are the type who won’t become friends if we’re in school because of the vast difference in our personalities so I think it’s amazing that by being put in the same group, we are able to understand each other. He suggests things that never crossed my mind, so he’s also the one who made me realise we can create things that can only be done because of the assembly of our different brains and how much wider our ideas can stretch. With that cautious personality, even after lots of research & knowledge and you still can’t make a decision, so I will make the decision, so please continue to let me make the decision from here on too (lol). By the way, during music programmes when we meet a lot of artistes, I’m blown away by Masuda-san’s social skills. Please teach me your social skills (lol).

Letter to Shige:   Same age, only child, taken the same secondary school entrance exam.. Being in the same group is not the only thing I have in common with Shige since long ago. I felt destiny when I learnt that we took the entrance exam at the same place three days apart from each other (lol). I felt our distance shortened recently due to practising songs together for "NEVERLAND" and having more chances of discussing work together and also when I sent him a message saying, "Let’s work hard to pull NEWS up", he replied with, "I also think the same", I was so happy. I'm grateful to Shige for putting NEWS back on track with acting in drama series, writing books, allowing us the chance to sing drama theme songs, etc, and I'm also happy for him that he's able to be proud of the work he does. But I’ll say this over and over again if I have to, your footsteps are noisy. Please think about the way you walk because your footsteps are so noisy that I always thought Godzilla is coming. I will not be worried about whether the heels of your shoes are being worn out (lol).

Letter to the me 15 years ago:   That’s about the time I entered the agency. 15-year-old me, please listen carefully. From here on, you will meet lots of people and many people will leave you too. You will have lots of fun, you will also have lots of tough times, things are not going to be smooth and you will lead quite a turbulent life. But, the 30-year-old me is enjoying the present very much. It's fun. So rest easy, no matter what happens, don't give up, don't forget to be grateful for everything around you, don't skip on working hard and please keep pressing on. In your late teens and early twenties, you will have a phase where you hide in your shell (lol), but that's also an experience. It's okay, just have faith and move forth!

Letter to the me 15 years later:   45-year-old me, if you’re married with children, that’d be great. Are you doing fine? I think that being filial to parents include showing them their grandchildren’s faces. Though I couldn’t do it for my father, it’d be great if I can do it for my mother. For work.. I don't know what it will become but I want to remain motivated to achieve and aim higher and continue to grow. Furthermore, hopefully, it'd be great if I can create a path that is easier to live on in the entertainment industry for all my Juniors who're working hard now. I think that the present era is very tough on the idols. The things I can do may be powerless, but if I can, I'd like to teach them a new rail that enables them, who are aiming for the future, to stretch themselves and be free to enjoy being an idol.

Letter to Fans:   NEWS is a group which has had its wings almost broken several times by riding on a lot of tough waves like getting multiple hiatus and members dropping out. I think it wasn’t even strange for people to think, "Enough with NEWS." Even so, whenever we have live concerts, lots of people come, creating a very warm atmosphere, I think it’s because of the bond and love we have with fans as we rode out the rough waves together. I have confidence that the strength of this bond will not lose to that of other groups have with their fans. We have had lotsa times where the concept of "fans are just naturally there" was being proven false, so I plan to treasure this chance to make up for it by making everyone happy. That’s because fans are like my life partners already. I wish to be a presence that can hold out my hand in everyone’s hearts when they turn to listen to our songs or watch our variety shows, whenever they stumble or whenever they want to give up. So, I’m in your hands from here onwards too.
