NEWS' Message Video on JFC 19 June 2020
The Japanese message is a word-for-word transcript of what NEWS said in their message video. The English message is my translation, which is as always, as true to their words and sentence constructions as I can make them be because that is my responsibility to you as a fellow NEWS fan.
この度、2020年6月19日をもちまして手越祐也がNEWSを脱退し、ジャニーズ事務所退所することとなりました。ファンの皆さんに突然のご報告となってしまいましたことをお許しください。4人のNEWSを待っていてくださった皆さんの声は僕たちに届いていました。しかし、これまでのNEWSとしての形を守りきることができませんでした。自分の力不足を悔いています。守りきれず、申し訳ありません。
On this day, 19th of June 2020, Tegoshi Yuya has resigned from NEWS and Johnny's & Associates. Please forgive us for this sudden announcement. Voices of everyone waiting for the 4 of us to come back have reached us. However, I was unable to protect the shape of NEWS to the end. I am regretful of my powerlessness. For being unable to protect NEWS to the end, I am sorry.
何度も形が変わってきたNEWSを応援してくれたファンのみなさまには再びこのような報告をしなくてはならないこと、大変心苦しく思っています。ですが、自分たちの口から話すべきだと思い、このような場を設けさせていただきました。何より、寂しい思いをされているファンの皆様には大変申し訳なく思っております。
I am heartbroken to be once again breaking such news to all fans who have been supporting us through the multiple changes in the shape of NEWS. However, we wanted to break it to you directly and so we had this place set up for us. Above all else, we are very sorry for causing all fans to have such heartbreaking feelings.
NEWSとして約17年一緒に駆け抜けてきました。最近は4人のNEWSがようやく皆さんに認めてもらえたんじゃないかなと思っていました。今こんなにたくさんの方が支えてくれているNEWSの形がまた変わってしまうこと、お許しください。これから、この3人で、NEWSを守っていきたいと考えています。いつか、いつか認めていただけるように、頑張ります。必ず守ってみせます。
I have been running with NEWS for about 17 years. Recently, I was thinking about how we are finally starting to be acknowledged as a 4-man group. Please forgive us for once again changing the shape of NEWS that so many people are supporting. From here onwards, the 3 of us, will protect NEWS. Someday, someday, in order for you to acknowledge us, we will work hard. We will show you that we will definitely protect NEWS.
NEWSは今後新しい形になります。これまで以上に楽しんでいただけるものを届けられるよう、努力してまいります。
NEWS, from here onwards, will take on a new shape. We will work hard in order to become able to bring you even more enjoyment than ever before.
僕たち3人、そして、新たな道を行くメンバーを、これからも見守っていただけると嬉しいです。また皆さんに笑顔で会える日を楽しみにしています。
If you could watch over the 3 of us, and also, the member who went on a new path, we would be very happy. We look forward to the day when we can meet you with smiles again.
